How To Stop Coloring

We get the dilemma. As the gray comes in you color once to see how it feels. It looks great. Your hair is shiny. The gray is gone and you now have what the world applauds as the ‘polished’ look. The trouble is that once you color your gray you need to keep coloring it. How about instead, as we become gray we feel more distinguished, wise, and respected?

Every two months roots peek out,

Catching eyes throughout my day.

Then the hold out weeks,

turn into gray.
Halfway there…

Halfway there…

In order for women to feel comfortable and not get on the color train (or never start) we have to feel supported, celebrated and believe that we will not have a stigma about our gray hair. The catch is…that might not ever happen unless women start to stop on our own. Waiting for the world to give us permission and support is a fast track to no change. So, consider the following options:

 How To Stop

  1. Never color: Makes so much sense, right?

  2. Tough out the roots: One day you will wake up and your hair will be more gray than color. That is the day you know your journey will be over soon.

  3. Use gray color to help the transition: Talk to any stylist and they are likely already providing this service to other brave and confident souls. You too can be one of them!

I’m a woman with a soul.

When people scan my gray,

It makes me feel that I’m not whole.
